Boys who like girls who like girls who like boys

In reference to the Houndstooth post earlier this week and my latest obsession with men’s clothing, I’ve put together some looks to provide a visual example of how feminine they can be.

Vintage Blazer and Hat, Houndstooth. Belt, A.P.C. Shoes, unknown.

This is actually a men’s blazer that I styled to look more like a mini-dress by cuffing up the long sleeves, stitching down the back slits, and cinching in the waist with a belt. I’d prefer a thinner leather belt, but this one works as well. Here I created a breezier look with the straw hat and platform shoes, but it would also look great for evening (and lower temperatures) with black tights and pumps.

Coat, Amarcord. Belt, Nine West. Shoes, Mayle. Hat, Stetson.

This green ‘dress’ is actually a vintage European military cargo coat that is absolutely enormous, but the material is of a great stiff quality (I don’t think it’s ever been worn) that after belting it in at the waist you can blouse it out at the top and the skirt stands full at the bottom on its own. The pockets look great too when filled with minimal necessities. I throw my wallet, phone, keys, and lipstick in there and I’m ready to go. The pink scarf adds a nice feminine touch to lighten up the heavy look.

Vintage Tuxedo Blouse, Houndstooth. Jeans, Grey Ant.

I love this pastel pink tuxedo shirt that is at least five sizes too small yet makes it fit just right. (Note: my mannequin is a bit bustier than I, so it’s uber small on her.) I’m also obsessed with the curve hugging, figure forming, high waist jeans; the combination of the two is very classic, yet sexy.

Sunglasses, St. Mark's Place. Vintage bag, Salvation Army. Shoes, Amarcord.

These yellow sandals, vintage bag, and white sunglasses are fun, alternative accessories to the straw hat and Mayle pumps in the last look.

Hot damn. I dig men's clothes!
